Review
The review of the point of the book that we read so far is when Mary kissed Travis for the first time. In the beginning, Mary is thinking about how they would survive and also while waiting for her mom's husband. In the middle, Sister Tabitha goes to Mary as she goes and leads her down to the main Sanctuary as to have to earn her privileges. She prays and take vows everyday. Later, she doesn't want to be with god as she goes into the sacred well to burn off her skin as she wants to go into the unconsecrated.
Rating
I would rate the book "The Forests of Hands and Teeth" a 3.5 out of 5 stars because the book is confusing. The book also has a lot of details that some of us don't understand. The Forests of Hands and Teeth gives how the character lots of emotions and what they deeply think and what they are doing in a point of view that is like our perspective through out the book. The book talks about a girl that lives in a village that was haunted. Mary's mother was pulled into a forest for the unconsecrated.
Mary lives in a town ruled by the Sisterhood and the Guardians. The village is surrounded by fences. There are only three ways through the fence. The gates that open on paths that are themselves by fencing, are those who've been infected. The other two paths lead to no where as no one knows where they lead to. Sister Tabitha says the village is the only human habitation left on Earth. Mary especially loves the ocean and believes if she could reach it, she would be free. Mary wants to get out of the village, find love, and friendship while figuring out the mystery behind the other gates and fences.
Mary is having trouble because she doesn't know how to decide on stuff to let go. Cassandra is Mary's best friend. She thinks about stuff that no one else thinks about like the forest with the hands and teeth. Her mother left and so did her father. Mary also likes the ocean because her mom used to tell her story's. Mary especially loves the waves that the ocean makes. This is significant because this shows how important her family members are especially her mom.
