1.Which narrative techniques does the author use on the 1st page to make his writing powerful?             The author uses Imagery to make the author imagine the scene and also description to describe what is happening also the author uses personification.
2.What specific lines demonstrate the writer's use of Imagery?what do these lines add to the story?
The specific lines that demonstrate the writer's use of imagery is "A tall Shade lifted his head and sniffed the air. He looked human except for his crimson hair and maroon eyes." This line adds to the story by telling what the tall Shade looked like and tells us that the tall Shade is part human.
3. Who are the characters in the story? How does the writer describe each one?
The characters in the story is the shade,urgals,and a elf.The writer describes each one by telling what is happening to them and what are they doing.
