the author uses figurative language on the first page. for example he says," the urgals could not see as well as the shade. they grooped like blind beggers fumbling with the weapons.

the author uses the line of imagery in pg 2 eyes brightned under the urgals thick bows and the creatures gripped their weapons tighter.

the main characters are the shade, urgals, elves, the lady.

a cry tore from the elves lips as she saw her dead companions, she took a step oward them then crushed her enemies, and bounded into the forest.
